Bill Clinton & Hillary Clinton

Hillary and Bill Clinton are unquestionably some of the most well-known public figures. They’ve been married for five decades and have been involved in politics for roughly the same amount of time – both on a state and national levels.

In 1971, the future President and first lady of the United States met at Yale Law School. Their official meeting took place in the library. In 1973, Bill, an attorney, proposed to Hillary for the first time in Ennerdale, England, but she declined because she “needed time.” Hillary accepted Bill’s proposal shortly after settling in Arkansas. Two years after being engaged, Hillary and Bill married in the living room of their new home in Arkansas with a Methodist minister officiating. Bill was chosen 42nd President of the United States in 1992, making Hillary and Chelsea the official first lady and first daughter. After Clinton’s second presidential term concluded in 2001, the pair relocated to Chappaqua, New York, to pursue other interests.
