Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem didn’t realize they’d discovered their better half until 15 years had passed and they completed two films together. They’re an Oscar-winning Spanish couple who happened to meet at the start of their careers and fell in love. Destiny (and Woody Allen) brought them back together at the perfect time to begin their behind-the-scenes love tale.

They first met in 1992 during Jamon Jamon. He attempted to win her heart in his role, and even though nothing happened at the time, they had apparent chemistry. They met again in the film Vicky Cristina Barcelona. He realized that neither of them dared to make the initial move during the shoot as they wanted to keep things professional till the very end of the film. Fortunately for them, a buddy had an end-of-production party, and the rest, as they say, is history. Now that they’re married, they’re reliving their experience as co-stars. Their focus is raising their children along with their investments, but they are equally passionate about environmental and social issues.
